Dazzling display lights up the skies over Simcoe County

Share

The Northern Lights put on a spectacular display over Simcoe County, lighting up the sky with a greenish glow in the early morning hours on Tuesday.

Residents in the area were treated to the sight of the aurora borealis, a natural light show caused by the interaction between solar particles and the Earth's atmosphere.

Patrick Smith sent CTV News images of the phenomenon from the Essa Agriplex taken around 1 a.m. Tuesday.

The stunning spectacle creates colourful lights over the night skies, with green being the most common shade visible at lower altitudes.
