City asking residents for feedback on Marshall Green report
Have your say about future plans for the waterfront in Barrie’s new survey.
Barrie staff and councilors want to hear from residents about the future of the downtown and waterfront in light of the Southshore, Barrie Sports and a Revitalized Downtown report penned by Marshall Green.
On August 14, Green provided a report to Barrie city council with feedback from various groups and organizations, summarizing their position to help guide the waterfront and downtown vision.

At the request of council, Mayor Alex Nuttall issued a Mayoral Direction August 15 to Barrie’s CAO and staff to pause action on Council’s motion 24-G-111 to allow for public consultation.
Marshall Green’s report outlines several recommendations, and city council wants to hear the public’s opinion. The survey closes September 25.
In addition to the online survey, an in-person drop-in consultation will take place September 24, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the General John Hayter Southshore Centre.
At the drop-in session, staff will ask residents for feedback on the same questions from the online survey.
All feedback will be provided to council in a report on Oct. 9.
