A man has died after a head-on collision west of Orangeville on Wednesday morning.

Emergency crews were called to Dufferin County Road 109 west of the 2nd Line in Amaranth Township just before 6 a.m.

Police say a van and a car were involved in the head-on crash.The driver of the van, a 46-year-old Brampton man, was taken to Headwaters Health Centre in Orangeville, where he died from his injuries.

The driver of the car, a 46-year-old Grand Valley man, was airlifted to a Toronto-area hospital with life threatening injuries. He is now listed in stable condition.

County Road 109 between County Road 3 and County Road 11 has reopened after being closed for several hours.
