York Regional Police is looking for a Bradford man after a fatal stabbing in Newmarket on Wednesday night.

On Friday, police say 38-year-old John Jansen is wanted for first degree murder in connection with the incident.

Police were called to Davis Drive and Huron Heights Drive on Wednesday around 10:30 p.m. after reports two people had been stabbed. Police arrived on scene and located two men suffering from stab wounds.

One of the men, 65-year-old Roniday Roseborough of Newmarket, died from his injuries. The other man remains in hospital.

Witnesses told police that three suspects may have fled the scene in a dark-coloured SUV.

One of the suspects was identified as Jansen. Police are asking him to obtain legal counsel and surrender himself.

Jansen is considered extremely violent and should not be approached. He is described as white, 5’6”, 120lbs, brown hair, brown eyes and has several tattoos on both arms.
