A 63-year-old woman has succumbed to her injuries in hospital, following an apartment fire in Bracebridge on Saturday night.

OPP say Gwendolyn Cartwright died on Monday morning at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto. Cartwright was found unconscious in her apartment unit at 19 Monck Rd., where a fire broke out on Saturday, around 6 p.m.

Bracebridge firefighters entered the ground floor unit of the two-story building and pulled Cartwright out. She was transported to South Muskoka Memorial Hospital, before being airlifted to Sunnybrook. Cartwright’s two dogs died in the fire.
