The body of a missing canoeist has been recovered from Pigeon Lake.

Kawartha Lakes OPP says the body of a 23-year-old Scarborough man was discovered from the lake on Tuesday afternoon. A 28-year-old woman from Halton Region remains missing.

According to provincial police, three people went out onto the water on Sunday to retrieve a pedal boat that had drifted from shore. That’s when the OPP say the canoe capsized.

One person was able to make it back to shore. Police say none of the canoe occupants were wearing lifejackets.

Emergency crews are continuing to search Pigeon Lake for the missing woman.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
