Barrie searching for local Downtown Countdown performer

Local bands and musicians are being called on to apply as performers for Barrie's 27th annual Downtown Countdown this upcoming New Year's Eve.
The successful act will play a 30-minute set at the City's signature New Year's Eve celebration. The tradition began in 1998 and features family activities, skating, fireworks and live entertainment. Previous acts that have performed at Downtown Countdown include Finger Eleven, Blue Rodeo, Arkells, and the Sam Roberts Band.

The City is encouraging all artists and bands from Barrie or around the area to apply by submitting their contact information, bio, and examples of their work for the selection committee to review.
Applications can be submitted online on the City's website and will be accepted until Friday, September 27.
