Toronto Police have arrested a 26-year-old Barrie man and charged him with multiple offences.
Peter Eric Kirkeby was arrested Monday after the Toronto Police Service Child Exploitation Section and the Barrie Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit executed a search warrant for his Barrie home and found digital evidence.
Toronto Police say a person in the GTA contacted them two weeks ago and said they had met Kirkeby online.
The complainant says Kirkeby wanted to pay someone to have sex with a 13-year-old girl, and then shared photos of the girl.
Police believe Kirkeby used the e-mail addresses firstname.lastname@example.org and email@example.com to get in touch with others online.
He is facing eight charges include making, possessing and distributing child pornography, using telecommunication to commit the offence of sexual assault, using telecommunication to commit the offence of making child pornography, and soliciting a person to have illicit sexual intercourse.
Police say they haven’t been able to identify any victims, but are asking anyone with information to come forward.
