Police have laid an attempted murder charge in connection to a Midland stabbing.

Midland police have charged a 24-year-old Midland man for allegedly stabbing a 39-year-old man on Friday morning.

According to investigators, the stabbing happened at a home on Ruby Street, around 10:46 a.m. When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a stab wound to his lower torso.

The victim was taken to Georgian Bay General Hospital with critical injuries. He has since stabilized and has been taken into surgery for his wounds.

The stabbing suspect was located a short time later and was arrested.  Police have determined that the suspect and the victim were living together.

The suspect will appear before a Barrie court on Monday for a bail hearing.
