ContactAmanda Hicks is an Operational Floater with a keen interest in online content with CTV Barrie since 2021.
She developed a passion for writing and storytelling early on. So it wasn't unusual to find her crafting fiction stories after school or pretending a hairbrush was a microphone.
Amanda graduated from York University with a Bachelor of Arts, Honours degree in Journalism. She interned at her university's radio station, VIBE 105, as a producer, where she got experience interviewing, hosting, editing and web content. Thus, her interest in broadcast journalism was born.
Over the years, Amanda has taken on numerous marketing roles where she gained experience with content writing, social media and all the intricacies of the web.
Ultimately, in 2019, she found herself back on the radio as a weekend news anchor with Pure Country 106 and Bounce 104.1.
Amanda is fluent in English and based out of Barrie, Ontario.
In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, travelling and spending time at her cottage.
