Alliston man arrested for alleged drug trafficking twice in two weeks

For the second time in as many weeks, a 40-year-old Alliston man alleged to have been dealing drugs across town finds himself behind bars.
Darryl Berdan, also known as Kenny or Kenneth, was arrested Friday afternoon, according to provincial police in Alliston.
Police say Berdan and three others were charged with drug-related crimes after a traffic stop of a vehicle with an obstructed rear license plate on 8th Avenue.
Police say the driver was identified and known to police as a suspended driver and he was searched.
Officers said they seized a baggie containing a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine, along with more than $1,600 in cash and two cellphones.

Berdan made a court appearance Monday morning from jail in Penetanguishene; his co-accused, two men and one woman – all in their 40s – were released with future court dates set for January.
Two weeks ago, Nottawasaga provincial police claimed Berdan was pulled over while travelling on Young Street in Alliston with an obstructed rear plate.
He was charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking along with having proceeds of crime under $5,000. Berdan also faces three counts of failure to comply with a probation order.
His co-accused in that matter faces similar drug charges.
The allegations against the accused have not been tested in court.
