Alleged historical sexual assault case in Caledon investigated
An alleged historical sexual assault case is being investigated by provincial police in Caledon.
In November 2022, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report from a victim that an assault had occurred in 2002.
At that time, police say the accused man was a teacher in Caledon.
Police say a 64-year-old Stoney Creek man was charged with sexual assault, sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching under 16 years of age.

Until 2024, he was a Caledon, Brampton, and Mississauga teacher.
There is no statute of limitations on sexual offences and a report can be made to police at any time, regardless of how much time has passed.
Anyone with information about this or a similar incident is asked to call the Caledon OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or a local police service or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
Police say the accused is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on Thursday to answer to the charges.
