A four-hour commercial motor vehicle safety inspection blitz in Bolton resulted in dozens of charges.

Provincial police, in partnership with the Ministry of Transportation, conducted the inspection blitz last week on Coleraine Drive and checked 14 vehicles.

According to police, seven vehicles were taken out of service for violations under the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance inspection criteria, and 57 charges were laid.

"We'd like to take this opportunity to thank all the safe operators we saw that day," OPP noted.

Another inspection blitz was held in Kawartha Lakes on Monday.

Police removed three vehicles from service, laid several charges, and issued multiple warnings.

Provincial police say joint enforcement will continue throughout the week.
