Dozens of bikers turned out for an annual ride, helping those of us who are youngest at heart.

The 17th annual Young At Heart motorcycle ride made its way through Barrie Saturday, working toward helping IOOF Seniors Homes and area seniors.

"The smiling faces and their waving, it brings back their youth," said Kate Insley, owner of Barrie's Harley-Davidson dealership, which sponsored the event. "It makes us feel so special and it's just an all-over good feeling."

Funds raised from the ride will go toward the IOOF's future expansion of its Brook Street location. The plan is to create 64 new long-term care beds and 66 upgraded beds, modern spaces, updated equipment, private rooms, and increased square footage, bringing the facility to 226 beds in total.

The ride has raised over $240,000 since its inception in 2006.
