A 17-year-old from Markham is facing serious charges after an August 11 shooting at a party in Caledon.

Provincial police say the alleged shooting happened around midnight at a large house party, known as 'Shark Tank,' on Castlederg Sideroad.

Police say one person was found with apparent gunshot wounds and taken to a Toronto area trauma centre.

On Thursday this week, police say one person was taken into custody in connection with the investigation.

The 17-year-old, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with aggravated assault, two counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, along with several weapons-related offences.

The teen was taken into police custody overnight to await a bail hearing.

Police urge anyone with information on the case to contact the Caledon OPP.
