A youth in Bradford was sprayed in the face with pepper spray and hit several time with a baton.

The youth was walking along Holland Street with some friends on Wednesday afternoon, when he was approached by two teenagers he had a previous dispute with.

South Simcoe Police says one of the teenagers then sprayed the youth with pepper spray and then hit him several times with an extendable baton.

The victim was taken to hospital, but was later released.

The suspect then fled the scene, but police say he later surrendered himself over to officers.

The 19-year-old has been charged with two counts of assault with a weapon and one count of failing to comply with an undertaking.

The investigation is ongoing.
