York Regional Police have arrested two men and are looking for a third following a number of break-and-enters, including one in Richmond Hill.

Police begin ‘Project Navigator’ on September 21, 2015 following a break-in at a home in Richmond Hill. Based on information they obtained, investigators believed the suspects responsible for the break and enter fled the area in a Lincoln Navigator.

Police believe the suspects were also responsible for break-and-enters in Toronto, Brampton, Mississauga and Hamilton.

“They would basically be daytime entries, front door kicks like most break and enters. They’re in and out of the house within minutes, ransacking the master bedroom and stealing jewelry,” said YRP Detective Don Cardwell. “You’d be very surprised at the value of the jewellery removed from each one. In some cases we’re looking at $5,000, $10,000, $20,000 from each home.”

On November 10, 2015, a warrant was executed at a home in Toronto and police arrested a man and stolen property was recovered.

Then on November 11, 2015, police issued arrest warrants for two other men. On November 12, 2015 one of the men turned himself in.

Wendell Antoine, 33, from Brampton faces six charges of break and enter and four charges of possession of stolen property. Lance Herman, 30, from Mississauga is facing three counts of break and enter, possession of stolen property and breach of probation.

Police are still searching for Jermaine Lyttleton, 32, form Toronto.

The investigation is ongoing and police are working to return stolen property to its rightful owners. AFlickr page has been set-up with photos of the stolen property that has yet to be claimed. More than 250 images, which include cameras, iPhones, and handbags, are on the site.

“It is important to get these items back because while many of them might not have a big monetary value, a lot of them do have a significant sentimental value,” says YRP Constable Andy Pattenden.

Investigators are urging people across the GTA that have been victims of break and enters to view the page and contact police if they recognize it as their own.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
