Premier Kathleen Wynne is slamming the door on rumours she might resign so the Liberals could have a new, potentially more popular leader for the 2018 election campaign.

There has been growing speculation Wynne would step aside after her personal approval rating fell to a record low of 14 per cent in a recent public opinion survey.

But the premier insisted today she would lead the Liberals in campaign for the election set for June of 2018.

The Liberals have won the last four elections in Ontario, three under Dalton McGuinty and the last one -- in 2014 -- with Wynne at the helm.
