A 63-year-old woman is in critical condition after being struck by a truck in Midland Thursday morning.

It happened just after 6:30 a.m. on King Street and Len Self Boulevard.

The woman was airlifted to a Toronto area hospital where she remains in critical condition.

Midland Police say the driver of the truck did stop and the Traffic Reconstruction unit is investigating but says it is too early to say if charges will be laid.

The woman was walking a dog at the time and the dog got away but Midland Police tell CTV News the dog has been located.

The area around King Street and Len Self Boulevard was closed for several hours for the investigation but has since reopened.

Anybody with information to the incident is asked to call 705-526-2201.
