A woman is in critical condition, following a collision in Bradford West Gwillimbury on Thursday morning.

According to South Simcoe Police, the incident happened around 8 a.m. at the intersection of Sideroad 5 and 9th Line. Officers say a scrap hauling truck and a car collided at the intersection.

The driver of the car, a 44-year-old Alliston woman, was taken to a local hospital before being taken to a Toronto-area hospital. The truck driver was not injured.

Police say fog may have been a factor in the crash – the investigation is ongoing.

Sideroad 5 between 10th Line and County Road 88 was closed for several hours and has since reopened.
