A woman is in hospital with critical injuries after she was allegedly assaulted by her husband.
York Regional Police were called to the area of St. John’s Sideroad and William Graham Drive in Aurora early Wednesday morning.
Officers arrived to find a woman suffering life threatening injuries. She was taken to hospital for treatment. A man was also found with injuries and was also taken to hospital.
Investigators later determined the pair to be husband and wife. They say the two were involved in a dispute, which escalated.
The 39-year-old man was arrested and has been charged with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.
He remains in custody and police say the investigation is ongoing.
