A Whitchurch-Stouffville man is dead after his vehicle struck a hydro pole in Markham.
The crash happened on Reesor Road, north of Major Mackenzie Drive East on Saturday, at around 5:30 a.m.
York Regional Police say they arrived only to find that a Lincoln sedan had struck a hydro pole and had come to rest in a ditch.
A 20-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. A second occupant in the vehicle, a 20-year-old man from Whitchurch-Stouffville, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
He has since been released from hospital.
The investigation is ongoing and police are asking anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
