Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for our region, warning of warm temperatures, significant rainfall, and strong winds.

In Collingwood, the temperature climbed from -11 Celsius on Friday to +9 Celsius on Sunday.

Water levels are expected to rise as well, making fast-moving water a potential concern.

Residents in Muskoka, Parry Sound, and northwest Haliburton who have had trouble with high water in the past are advised to monitor the conditions closely.

Winds up to 90 kilometres an hour, which are strong enough to knock down tree branches and cause power outages, are also expected.
