Orillia OPP have charged two people for leaving dogs unattended in hot vehicles.

Just before 3:30 p.m. July 7, OPP were called to a business off Murphy Road about a dog in a car that appeared to be in distress. The dog was in the car with windows down about two inches. Police say it was about 25C outside, and the car’s interior was much hotter.

A second vehicle was found at the same place, also with a dog in distress inside in a similar situation.

Both owners were charged under a city bylaw for causing an animal to be confined in a vehicle without proper ventilation, which has a set fine of $485.
