Charges have been laid after two horses were euthanized because of animal neglect.
OPP officers were called to a farm on the 5th Line of Essa on Sunday after receiving several reports about the well-being of two horses.
A veterinarian was called in and determined the horses were in extreme pain and had been neglected for some time. The veterinarian ended up having to euthanize the animals.
A 44-year-old Markham woman was charged with two counts of animal neglect and one count of mischief.
She will appear in court next month.
