Two people are dead after a car collided with four motorcyclists, east of Haliburton.

According to the OPP, a PT Cruiser was travelling east on Highway 118 in Highlands East Township, when it crossed the centre line and struck four of seven motorcyclists. This happened Saturday afternoon.

George Eliadis, 52, and 42-year-old Shari Williams of Uxbridge died in the crash. Two other people were sent to hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the PT Cruiser suffered minor injuries.

Eliadis was the deputy commander with Toronto Paramedic Services.

Officials still don’t know why the car crossed into oncoming traffic. It’s also unclear if charges will be laid.

The investigation is ongoing.
