The victims of a deadly two-vehicle crash near Orangeville have now been identified.

Police say 26-year-old Travis Logan from Alton died when the sedan he was in collided with an SUV.

The people in the SUV, 49-year-old Marie Lessard and her 57-year-old husband Steven Ratz from Amaranth Township, also died.

Ratz was the vice principal at West Side Secondary School in Orangeville and Lessard was a French teacher at Centennial Highlands in Shelburne.

The school board says its staff and students send their thoughts and prayers to the families and will offer support any way they can.

The crash happened on the Mono-Amaranth Townline at Sideroad 10 at around 11 p.m. Sunday.

When emergency crews arrived, they found both vehicles overturned with at least one of them on fire.

One of the vehicles came to rest more than 50 metres away from the road.

Police determined that the sedan failed to stop at a stop sign before it collided with the SUV.

Residents say at that intersection it’s common for drivers to go through the stop sign.

Police say they’ll be keeping a closer eye on these problems in that area.

“So far what we've got here is driver error, and that leads us back to we will be stepping up enforcement across the county, even today after this accident happened we had somebody charged with speeding just a kilometer north of that scene on Mono Amaranth Townline,” said Paul Nancekivell of the Dufferin OPP. “So people aren't getting the message. I don't know how much clearer we can make it.”
