The Tragically Hip have announced 11 dates in an upcoming all-Canadian tour that the beloved Canadian rockers say will be their last.

The Man Machine Poem tour dates were revealed Wednesday morning, one day after the band announced frontman Gord Downie has a terminal form of brain cancer.

The Hip will make stops in Victoria, Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, London, Toronto, Hamilton, Ottawa and Kingston between July 22 and Aug. 20.

Tickets will be available June 3.

Doctors have said, following treatment, Downie is cleared to perform on tour.

The 51-year-old has been diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancerthat is treatable, but it cannot be cured.

Doctors discovered the brain tumour in December after Downie suffered a seizure. He has since undergone surgery and 30 radiation therapies.

In a news conference on Wednesday, doctors said the tumour has decreased substantially over the last few months. However, since it cannot be completely removed, it will one day come back.

One bit of good news is that Downie’s tumour contains a certain protein that “confers longer survival,” the head of neurology at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in TorontoDr. James Perry told reporters on Tuesday.

“Fortunately for Gord, he has a type of glioblastoma that is more amenable to treatment than most,” Perry said.

In a statement on The Hip's website, the band said they're hoping theupcoming tour will be their best yet.

"This feels like the right thing to do now, for Gord, and for all of us," the band wrote. "What we in The Hip receive, each time we play together, is a connection; with each other; with music and it’s magic; and during the shows, a special connection with all of you, our incredible fans.

"So, we’re going to dig deep, and try to make this our best tour yet."
