Witnesses are being sought after a teen was burned in a bonfire at an East Gwillimbury bush party earlier this month.

York Regional Police officers were called to the Holland Landing Community Centre on Sept. 5 just before 1 a.m. for a teenage who was injured at the party.

Officers found a 16-year-old boy suffering from severe burns. Investigators say the teen was involved in an altercation with a man, who allegedly threw him into a bonfire.

The suspect is described as a black male, between 17 and 19-years-old, about 6’, with a thin but muscular build and short black hair. He also spoke with a thick Jamaican accent.

Police are hoping one of the estimated 150 high school students that were in attendance will come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to contact YRP or Crime Stoppers.
