South Simcoe Police are looking for a driver after a hit and run in Alcona Monday morning injured a teen riding a bike.

Police say several kids on bikes were crossing Candaras Street at 25 Sideroad around 11:35 a.m when a grey or silver car turned and struck the front of one of the bikes knocking the rider to the ground.

Witnesses told police the driver was an older male, who may have a moustache or goatee, and appeared to be on his cell phone and may not know he was involved in a collision.

The rider, a 14-year-old from nearby Goodfellow Public School, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Anyone with information is asked to call South Simcoe Police at (705) 436-2141.
