Fire officials are investigating after a suspicious house fire just outside of Collingwood on Thursday night.

Clearview Fire Chief Collin Shewell tells CTV News the fire broke out around 8:30 p.m. on 6th Street in Clearview Township.

Both Clearview Fire and Collingwood Fire responded to the fire and they arrived it was engulfed by flames.

Crews used more than 100,000 gallons of water to put out the fire which was completely out by 5:45 a.m. Friday morning.

Shewell says the house had been abandoned for about six months and there was no electricity or gas running into the building.

Both the Office of The Ontario Fire Marshal and the OPP are investigating.
