Barrie police are asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect involved a convenience store robbery on Wednesday.

According to investigators, a man armed with a knife entered the Mac’s Convenience store located at Essa Road and Burton Avenue, around 5:25 a.m.

Police say the man approached the counter and demanded money from the employee. An undisclosed amount of cash was taken, but the suspect allegedly demanded the clerk handover the till.

The clerk complied, and the suspect fled the store on foot and was last seen heading north on Essa Road.

Police searched the area, which lead to the discovery of a hoodie believed to be worn by the suspect and the register’s till along a railway track near Innisfil Street.

No injuries are reported.

The suspect is described as a six foot tall white male. He was last seen wearing mirrored aviator sunglasses, a white Fox Racing hoodie and blue jeans.
