Police believe the man who broke into an Alliston hospital and nursing home is also responsible for a similar incident in Orillia.

According to the OPP, the man broke into an office at a nursing home on Mississaga Street West on Sunday, at around 1 p.m. Police say he stole an undisclosed amount of cash.

A surveillance camera captured video of the suspect, and police believe he is the same person responsible for break-ins at Stevenson Memorial Hospital and at Good Samaritan Nursing Home.

In the Stevenson case, police say the suspect broke into an auxiliary and mechanical room on Feb. 23. There was no indication that anything was stolen.

On Feb. 24, investigators say the suspect gained entry to the nursing home through a reception window. He then allegedly broke into two offices and made off with some cash.

The suspect is described as a white man in his mid-30s, with a slim build, facial hair and short brown hair. He was seen wearing an Under Armour hoodie and a baseball cap.

Anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
