A fire on the top of a stove brought Barrie firefighters to a home on Anne Street on Wednesday night.
The fire spread to cupboards and was no match for the residents who tried to put the fire out. They called 911 and got the help they needed.
There were working smoke alarms in the house. The fire happened in the basement and caused extensive smoke damage.
