Environment Canada says parts of central and southern Ontario could see some freezing rain on Wednesday night.

In a special weather statement, a snow or wintery mix could develop Wednesday afternoon and shift to intermittent freezing rain in the evening and overnight hours.

The special weather statement is in effect for:

  • Orangeville - Grand Valley - Southern Dufferin County
  • Shelburne - Mansfield - Northern Dufferin County
  • Caledon
  • Owen Sound - Blue Mountains - Northern Grey County

Environment Canada says the system will move from London, up through the Waterloo Region and reach the Dundalk Highlands overnight.

Snowfall in these areas could also hit up to five centimetres.

Residents living in these areas are asked to drive cautiously because of changing road conditions.
