With a warm and humid air mass Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the region. 

Temperatures will range from 28 to 30 across the regions today and from 29 to 32 Saturday. Overnight lows will range from 17 to 20 tonight and from 18 to 21 Saturday night.

The weather office warns these conditions pose a health risk when you are not used to the heat, espacially for older adults, infants, young children and people with chronic illnesses.

The special weather statement is in effect for the following areas:

  • Barrie - Collingwood - Hillsdale
  • Midland - Coldwater - Orr Lake
  • Orillia - Lagoon City - Washago
  • Innisfil - New Tecumseth - Angus
  • Orangeville - Grand Valley - Southern Dufferin County
  • Shelburne - Mansfield - Northern Dufferin County
  • Hanover - Dundalk - Southern Grey County
  • Owen Sound - Blue Mountains - Northern Grey County
  • Saugeen Shores - Kincardine - Southern Bruce County
  • Caledon
  • Newmarket - Georgina - Northern York Region
  • Pickering - Oshawa - Southern Durham Region
  • Uxbridge - Beaverton - Northern Durham Region
  • Vaughan - Richmond Hill - Markham
