Barrie Police are looking for three men after a home invasion and robbery in Barrie early Saturday morning.

Investigators say three men, allegedly armed with a shotgun, pistol and a spray canister, forced their way into a home in Letitia Heights on Barrett Crescent just after midnight.

There were four people home at the time -- including at least one woman -- and police say all of them were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Investigators say a shot that was fired during an altercation between one of suspects and a man living at the home and ended up in a wall, just missing one of the victims.

Barrie Police also say that before the bandits fled with an undisclosed amount of property two of the residents were overcome by a substance brought by the suspects.

Two of the victims were treated for minor injuries in hospital and released but were later arrested after being dropped off outside the home.

Police are seeking a search warrant to enter the home as their investigation continues.

Barrie Police were not available for an interview on Saturday but did say the incident was isolated and there is no threat to public safety.

Residents in the area say it's been common to see different people coming and going from this house and police were at the same address a few nights ago. Tim Smitten says this is normally a quiet neighbourhood where children play freely.

"Almost every house on this street has one or two more kids running around; I have two of my own, like I said it's generally a neighbourhood full of young families."

No suspect descriptions have been released at this time.
