A 41-year-old woman from New Tecumseth is dead after being struck by a car on Highway 9 east of Tecumseth Pines Drive on Saturday night.
Police say both the woman and the car were heading east when the car hit her at around 6 p.m.
She was transferred to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with police.
Investigators have not saidwhy the woman was walking along the highway or where she was going.
No charges have been laid, and the highway was been re-opened.
