A Caledon senior, who was critically injured in a crash on Highway 9 last week, has died in hospital.

OPP say a westbound vehicle was travelling along the highway in Caledon on July 20, when it crossed the centre line and struck the 88-year-old man’s vehicle head-on.

In total, five people had to be extricated from both vehicles and taken to hospital. Police say the others received minor injuries.

The crash closed Highway 9 between Airport Road and Humber Station Road for several hours.

The investigation is ongoing.
