Police are looking for a suspect after an Orillia jewellery store was robbed Friday afternoon.

It happened around 1:51 p.m. at P D Murphy Jewellery on Mississaga Street East.

According to police, the suspect told the employee that he had a gun in his backpack, but it was not displayed.

The suspect fled the store with a quantity of rings and was last seen running east on Mississaga Street East toward Peter Street and then running through an alley toward Colborne Street East

Police are looking for a white man between 45-55 years-old, 5’8” with a medium build, unshaven and salt and pepper hair. He was wearing a white and gray stripped rugby shirt, baggy pants and a dark touque with tassels.

Police are looking for an Orange or Red Honda Element in connection with the robbery.

No one was injured during the robbery.
