Police are searching for a man after a Macs convenience store was robbed on Bayfield Street in Barrie early Thursday morning. 

It happened around 1:30 a.m.  and police say the man, who was wearing a mask and was armed with a kitchen knife, entered the store and grabbed cash and 3 packages of cigarettes.

Officers brought in the K9 unit to track the suspect but weren’t able to track the man down.

Police say he was wearing a black sweater, grey sweat pants, black cowboy hat and heavy black shoes or boots.
