Flood waters rose yet again in Minden and with more rain in the forecast, residents are uneasy.

The township has been hit hard by flooding all week; every day the Gull River has risen. Officials say overnight, flood waters rose another two centimetres.

City, Hydro One and volunteer crews have filled more than 70,000 sandbags. They now protect homes and business throughout the township.

“It's hard. You don't really know what's going to happen. You don't know if you need to evacuate. You don't really know what's going on,” says resident Crystal Grant.

Some streets are only accessible by boat. Several local roads remain closed.

Officials say a few lakes north of the village have now crested and it's hoped the water will drop in Minden by Friday with a little luck.

More rain is expected this weekend. Not a significant amount, but enough to keep people on their toes.

“It's been a little bit of a stressful situation, but we're getting through it. Trying to stay on top of the water getting in and just pumping what's in, out,” says Mike Xerri.
More than 100 homes have voluntarily evacuated, but several people have stayed behind.

Until the water crests, people are being asked to stay away from closed roads and all bodies of water.
