Among the turkeys, pigs and other farm animals at the Barrie Fair there is a unique warrior named "Fergie."

Fergie is a Scottish Highland stallion and is only one of a few left on the planet. In fact, he is one of only two stallions of his breed in North America.

“Fergie is a powerhouse, but absolutely the most gentle powerhouse,” says Erin Patrson of Oro-Medonte’s Woodwind Farms.

This ancient breed carried knights and warriors into battle. Soon he will help warriors of a different kind:  men, women and children living with post-traumatic stress disorder.

“Because they communicate using energy rather than words allow for validation because they allow that communication to happen.”

Those living with PTSD understand the invaluable help ponies like Fergie deliver.

“The energies that come off it and feed back and forth from human to animal, it's just so touching and beneficial,” says first responder Woody Woofine.
