Starting Monday a portion of one of Barrie’s busiest streets will be closed for two weeks for repairs.

The City of Barrie will close Mapleview Drive East to allow crews to finish work on a sanitary sewer and watermain.

The closure will shut down Mapleview between Huronia Road and Country Lane for two weeks.  Contractors will work 24 hours a day during this time.

City officials say the closure will allow work to get down faster and save money.

City busses will detour onto Lockhart Road. People looking to catch a bus between Yonge Street and Huronia will be able to catch a ride through a shuttle service.
