HALIBURTON, Ont. -- Ontario Provincial Police say they believe last year's disappearance of a Bowmanville man is the result of foul play.

They say 47-year-old David Palmer was last seen a week before Thanksgiving on October 2, 2015.

The brown Honda Accord he was driving turned up near Haliburton, Ont., on Oct. 14, but police say they have not found any other trace of him since including his wallet or cellphone.

The OPP say they will be beginning a search for Palmer on Tuesday focusing on an area just north of Haliburton.

They're appealing to the public to take note of anything unusual they may see as cottage season gets underway, including changes in the landscape or suspicious items.

Palmer is described as a six-foot tall white male with brown hair and blue eyes.
