York Regional Police along with the RCMP and OPP have arrested six men they say were involved in an organized crime group in the GTA.

The year long investigation, named “Project Forza” led to six arrests in Bolton, Vaughan and Toronto during which police seized drugs, vehicles and cash.

Police are still looking for two more men, including the group’s leader Daniel Ranieri of Bolton.

“We believe that Raneri left for Cuba two weeks ago. We believe he is still there,” said York Regional Police Inspector Michael Slack. “We have completely dismantled his crew.”

Police say Raneri took over for Juan Fernandez as leader after Fernandez was killed in an ambush in Italy last year.

They are confident Raneiri will return to Canada, and say he will be arrested when he does.
