Police say four people are lucky to be alive after a truck and jeep crashed in Innisfil Sunday afternoon.

The two vehicles collided at the 20th Sideroad and 7th line after police say the Jeep went through the lights.

Both vehicles wound up in a ditch. A mother and son in the jeep were sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The two people in the truck escaped unscathed. Part of the intersection was closed and traffic was rerouted for the investigation.

Police don’t know why the Jeep went through the lights, but alcohol is not believed to be a factor.

This is the third crash along the 20th Sideroad in Innisfil this summer.
