Provincial police have charged two men with attempted murder in connection to a shooting in Caledon early Wednesday morning that left one man injured.

Caledon OPP responded to the shooting at around 12:10 a.m. in the area of Highway 10 and Old School Road.

Police say the victim; a man in his 20’s was transported to a trauma centre with non-life threatening injuries.

Police have arrested and charged two men.

Andrae Matthew Douse, 19, of Mississauga has been charged with attempt to commit murder using a firearm, kidnapping - confine and possession of a schedule I substance.  Douse is schedule to appear in bail court on Friday.

Police have also charged Mohamud Mohamed Hassan, 26, of Etobicoke has also been charged with attempt to commit murder using a firearm, kidnapping - confine and possession of a schedule I substance. Hassan will appear in bail court on August 30.

Police say there is no threat to public safety as a result of this incident.

The investigation is ongoing by the OPP Caledon Detachment Major Crime Unit with assistance from Peel Regional Police Service.
