OPP have reported another homicide in Wasaga Beach over the Victoria Day long weekend.  

Police are investigating the death of 23 year-old man who was the victim of an apparent stabbing early Monday morning.

Police say the man was stabbed to death around 3:30am on Main Street near Skull Island. A section of Main Street has been closed throughout the day for the investigation.

Police have identified him as Erick Tello from Caledon, Ontario. 

Police are also investigating the death of an eighteen year old man who was killed on Saturday night. Police say he was also the victim of a stabbing.

According to police he was was stabbed to death in front of the Pizza Pizza on Mosley street. He was visiting Wasaga Beach for the long weekend.

Police have identified him as Francesco Molinaro from Caledon, Ontario.

At this point, police said they do not believe the two crimes are related.

In a release issued on Monday afternoon, Wasaga Beach Mayor Brian Smith expressed his sympathies to the families of two males recently killed in the town.

"Loss of life is always devastating; our condolences go out to both families. It is unfortunate that these incidents have happened in our community," Smith said in a statement.

He added that he would not comment any further on the two incidents until he is provided with more information by the OPP.

"It is my intention to meet with the OPP in the coming days to discuss the circumstances. Right now, the Town's objective is to determine what can be done to try to prevent these altercations from happening in the future."
