The mayor of Penetanguishene will serve another term as Simceo County warden.

Gerry Marshall was re-elected warden in a secret ballot of county councillors on Tuesday.

He says transit is something that will link communities in the county and as such, must be a priority when council is to decide how to spend county tax dollars.

“Some of our new challenges ahead of us this term over the next two years include introducing transit into the County of Simcoe. We have some big visions and big plans.

Marshall says economic development, affordable housing and waste management – specifically work on the county's new organics processing facility – will also be major priorities.

“This council is progressive in its thinking and it's exhilarating to have that kind of passion on the floor to move the items forward.”
